Brian Allardice is an architect with a wide range of international experience. From the planning and design of public housing in the U.K. to leading the architectural team on large scale multi-disciplinary projects handled out of Tokyo, he has participated in all phases of development projects, with responsibilities ranging from programme development and conceptual design to job administration and site supervision.

Brian Allardice was responsible for the on-site design development and co-ordination of the both the Hyatt Regency lobby and the Holiday Inn retail and business centre in New Delhi, and has also worked on-site in North America and the Middle East. As project architect, Brian Allardice has been responsible for a major renovation of a mixed-use project at 1440 ouest, rue Ste. Catherine Montreal, and as part of the production team was instrumental in the design and co-ordination of the infrastructure necessary to insert a 3-hall Cineplex in an excavation below Les Cours Mont-Royal. He has been responsible for the conceptual and preliminary architectural design of commercial and resort projects in the U.K., Russia, & Japan, and for the urban design of major developments proposed for Jakarta and sites in Osaka and Manila Bays.

Brian Allardice has introduced CAD systems to offices in both Canada and Japan, his reponsibilities in this respect including staff training (both in-house and with external agencies), the development and implementation of office standards and procedures, and in-house software development.

Given the pressures created by rapid urbanisation and extensive suburban developments, his major interest is in the identification and development of the neglected potential of unprepossessing or "difficult" urban sites, particularly in conjunction with infrastructure development.

Brian Allardice is currently serving as a member of Burnaby's Lougheed Area Advisory Committee.
